Azerbaijani Ambassador to Iran called to Foreign Ministry

APA reports quoting Iran television that Spokesman for Iranian Foreign Ministry Seyyid Mahammadali Huseyni told journalists that they had asked the ambassador do make efforts in solving the problem in connection with the detention of the cargo sent by Russia for Iranâ€™s Bushehr nuclear power plant in Azerbaijan-Iran border. Huseyni said that Iran awaited Russia to fulfill its responsibilities.
â€œWe want Azerbaijan to allow the cargo owned by Iran. We asked Azerbaijani Ambassador to do his best for this. We consider that the cargo will be delivered to Iran soon. The cargo is transported basing on the cooperation between Iran and Russia and international laws and there should not be an obstacle for itâ€, he said.
Chairman of Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi told journalists that the Foreign Ministry had demanded release of cargo from Abbasali Hasanov. He said the equipment for the nuclear power plant was transported basing on the official contracts.
The cargo sent from Russia to Iran was detained under the decision of Azerbaijani Government on March 29 and Russia was demanded detailed information about the cargo.
