Baku. Mahbuba Gasimbayli –APA. “Negotiations between Azerbaijani Government and Venice Commission have been constructive and there have been mutual agreements”, Ali Hasanov, Chief of Socio-Political Department of the President’s Office told journalists, APA reports.
“There were such issues that the Venice Commission took the participation of sociopolitical forces into account. It is difficult to reach an agreement on such issues. For example, formation of composition of election commissions can be included in it. The Venice Commission and Azerbaijani Government have held a broad event on it. All interesting sides have been invited to the event, but they have not been coordinated. Therefore, there remain open issues”, he said.
Hasanov spoke about the proposals on reduction of period of election campaign and noted that there was not authorities’ proposal on the reduction of period of election campaign.
“Several political organizations consider that 4-month election campaign is a long period in Azerbaijan. Maybe, this is real. Opinions of the political organizations will be taken into account during the discussions in the Parliament”, he said.
