Alan Waddams: â€œThere are positive and negative results on implementation of Azerbaijanâ€™s commitmentsâ€

Ramil Mammadli-APA. â€œAzerbaijan has achieved success in several steps taken according to the Action Plan within the framework of the European Neighborhood Policyâ€, said Ambassador Alan Waddams, representative of the European Commission to Azerbaijan. He stated that 5-year Action Plan left behind one year.
â€œThere are positive and negative results on implementation of Azerbaijanâ€™s commitments. Azerbaijan has taken all measures combating narcomania. There is progress on economy but it is not at high levelâ€, he said. Mr. Waddams stated that there were several problems on freedom of assembly, speech and press.
â€œThis issue is one of Azerbaijanâ€™s commitments. There are several problems on Human Rights in democratization processâ€, he said. Ambassador declined to give information about cultivation of narcotic plants in the occupied lands of Azerbaijan.
â€œI cannot say anything for lack of information about itâ€, he said.
