Khalaf Khalafov: â€œWe are negotiating with Turkmenistan and Iran on delimitation of the Caspian seabed basing on the median line principleâ€

Mentioning that Azerbaijan, Russia and Kazakhstan reached agreements and signed treaties on the status of the Caspian Sea, the Deputy Minister said the documents envisaged the delimitation of the Caspian Seabed basing on the median line principle.
â€œThese legal documents regulate the efforts of three countries in this direction. The negotiations with other countries also base on these principles. I can say it plainly that we are negotiating with Turkmenistan and Iran on the delimitation basing on the median line principleâ€, he said.
Khalaf Khalafov also underlined that there were various elements, approaches while applying the median line principle.
â€œWe should bring the positions closer and reach a complete agreementâ€, he said.
