Two political parties in Azerbaijan to discuss merger issue

Baku. Ramil Mammadli-APA. “Azadlig” Party has offered to Azerbaijan National Democrat Party to merge, Ogtay Khalilli, Executive Chairman of the Azerbaijan National Democrat Party (AMDP) told APA and added that suggestion had been contributed by “Azadlig” Party’s Chairman Ahmad Oruj. The suggestion has not been discussed by the party’s leadership yet. Khalilli said he would discuss the issue with Ahmad Oruj in the next few days. “We had to meet and discuss it yesterday, but it came amiss. Generally there are also other suggestions related to the re-organization of the party. We will review all these issues and pass decisions on them in the congress”, said Ogtay Khalilli.
Ahmad Oruj said they had discussed merger issue with the AMDP former Chairman Iskander Hamidov. In his opinion, party uniting the peoples, who prefer national-democratic values in the country, needs in the organization. Ahmad Oruj confirmed his suggestion for the merger of his party with AMDP. “This issue was normally accepted and supported by our party. We have no terms in advance. Thus, there will not be differences in deployment of the posts and other issues”. Oruj said he would meet with the AMDP Executive Chairman Ogtay Khalilli to discuss these issues with him.
