Elmar Mammadyarov: â€œAzerbaijan is ahead for the level of democracy and freedom of press than other region countriesâ€

The OSCE Representative stated that his visit aimed to present questionnaire on self-regulation of media prepared by OSCE and gather all journalists to discuss importance of responsible and ethic journalism and qualify them. The guest estimated pardon decree signed by the President and stressed that the measures should be taken in this direction and noted that the freedom of press was one of the main factors of democracy. He added that the freedom of mass media, pluralism should be improved.
Mammadyarov provided information about the measures taken in the development of democracy and stressed that Azerbaijan was ahead for the level of democracy and freedom of press in comparison with other region countries. The Minister emphasized that the democratic reforms would be continued and Azerbaijan would cooperate with the international organizations in this direction.
