Fagani Maharramov: â€œSome forces inside AMIP to speculate on behalf of partyâ€™s leaderâ€

They are trying to nominate one of the partyâ€™s functionaries claiming that partyâ€™s leader Etibar Mammadov supports his nominationâ€, Fagani Maharramov, leader of the AMIP regional branch in Goranboy told APA. Maharramov said he had held numerous meetings with the regional organizations and won their support for his nomination. â€œRegional organizations and Congress representatives supported me will issue a joint statement. This is open supporting campaign and we donâ€™t hide anything. All sides will show its positions until the Congressâ€. Fagani Maharramov said that he had evidences approving the definite plan and he arrived in capital to prevent it. He was provided with the room in the AMIP temporary headquarter in the partyâ€™s branch office in Nasimi district. â€œWe are against the nominations in the day of Congress. It will be amended to the partyâ€™s charter that the candidates cannot be nominated in the day of Congress. Candidates should be put forward in 15 days until the Congress. All nominees should arrange the meetings in the regional organizations and announce his platform and hold an election campaignâ€. Fagani Maharramov said Etibar Mammadov had expressed advisable opinions at the meeting with him and he took them into consideration. To him, he sees present Secretary General Fuad Mukhtarov as a main rival for him. â€œHe has the opportunities to win.
Fuad Mukhtarov, AMIP Acting Chairman told APA that he had not made a final decision yet on his nomination for the partyâ€™s chairmanship. He said it would depend on the development of process. Fuad Mukhtarov also said that he had no information about the forces speculated on behalf of Etibar Mammadov. The partyâ€™s Secretary General supported the idea to nominate the candidates until the Congress and to make this amendment to the partyâ€™s charter. Ali Orujov, AMIP Press Secretary also said that there was no information about the speculations on behalf of Etibar Mammadov.
