Iskander Hamidov resigned from party’s chairmanship and dropped out of politics

He announced his decision to drop out of politics, because he will go on a pilgrimage. Hamidov said he would like to show an example to the party leaders in Azerbaijan keeping their posts for a long time. “Praying people should not lie. I am 60 years old. I want to go on pilgrimage to Kerbala to be closer to Allah. I showed resignation ethics while being the interior minister. No one is irreplaceable. The party will find a new leader. I decided to stop the political activityâ€. He explained the reasons bringing him to the politics. “I came to the politics with two goals. At first I would like to contribute to the country’s independence. We achieved it. The second goal was a restoration of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity. I am ready to fight for this goal any timeâ€. Iskander Hamidov condemned some opposition party leaders. “Party leaders are strengthening their places selling out for the grants. The religion does not coincide with such issues. There are so many lies in the Azerbaijani politics…They have become accustomed to live under the lies. They even believe in their own lies. Immoral people turned the politics into the field of immorality. I am not in this camp and I am protesting all these negatives dropping out of politics. It is my last method of struggle. There are young people. Let them show their opportunitiesâ€. Hamidov said he would reject the suggestion of AMDP leader’s post. Hamidov noted that he didn’t concern on the further activity of his party. “First deputy of the party’s chairman Ogtay Khalil is executing the chairman’s duties. There are tens of peoples, who are able to replace meâ€.
