US Ambassador: “Azerbaijan’s socio-economic development is important for security of South Caucasusâ€

The US has participated in the funding of operations since the establishment of the agency, said Nazim Ismailov, ANAMA Director, APA reports. Nazim Ismailov informed about the works for mine action in Azerbaijan and said the US had provided ANAMA with financial and technical assistances. Ambassador Anne Derse underlined the US Government’s support for the ANAMA’s activity. “Azerbaijan’s socio-economic development is important for the security of South Caucasus. ANAMA has achieved successes not only in Azerbaijan, but also for its worldwide activity and gained a positive imageâ€. To the ambassador, the US Government has allocated 15 million dollars for ANAMA since 2002. Further, the projects on ANAMA’s activity and mine action in Azerbaijan were presented at the event.
