President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev issued decree of pardon

58 of them have been released from the remaining part of their jail and one was reduced in imprisonment. The decree was issued on the appeals of some prisoners, their families, Human Rights Commissioner and human rights organizations and considering the identity of prisoners, their health and family conditions and their behavior during imprisonment, as well as wishing them not violate the laws henceforth. The oldest prisoner pardoned by the presidential decree is Karimov Agamirza Absalam oglu, 73 and the youngest is Rahimov Shahriyar Mirkazim oglu, 1990-born. According to the decree, one Russian, one Iranian and one Afghan citizen were also pardoned. There are no sentenced journalists among the pardoned people.
It has been 44th decree of pardon since 1995 and this humanist action has covered 4762 prisoners so far.
