Azerbaijanâ€™s Electoral Code discussed in Venice Commissionâ€™s meeting

Member of the Venice Commission Eivers Envinch told APA that the participants expressed their concern over the probability of the election commissionsâ€™ rigging the elections. They said the representatives of opposition should be included into the election commissions in order to maintain balance in the composition of commissions.
No decision has been made at the meeting. Eivers Envinch said that the representatives of Azerbaijani Government and Venice Commission had exchanged views on the theme. The sides have reached an agreement to hold one more meeting in April-May after the Electoral Code is discussed in the Azerbaijani Parliament.
It has not been determined whether the discussions will be held in Baku, or in Strasbourg.
