Azerbaijan Defense Ministry: Azerbaijani peacekeepers to return soon

He spoke about the ongoing preparations for recalling of peacekeepers in accordance with the parliament decision. â€œThe parliament decision will be implemented in the next few days. 34 peacekeepers will return home from Kosovoâ€. E. Sabiroglu said he had no information which country would take responsibility for residential areas and positions Azerbaijani servicemen controlled. â€œOur peacekeepers are serving as part of Turkish forces and these issues will be solved within responsibility of Turkish Armed Forcesâ€. 34 Azerbaijani servicemen joined Turkish peacekeepers in Dragas, Kosovo in 1999 and control 18 residential areas. In view of Kosovoâ€™s unilateral declaration of independence, Azerbaijani Parliament passed a decision on March 4 to withdraw Azerbaijani peacekeepers from Kosovo.
