Chingiz Asgarov: Names of candidates for judgeship of European Court of Human Rights to be publicized next week

Azerbaijani Governmentâ€™s representative to ECHR Chingiz Asgerov told APA that the interview would end in the evening that day.
He noted that the names of candidates would be publicized next week. Asgarov expressed his confidence that the list of Azerbaijani candidates would not be sent back this time. Asgarov stressed that decisions adopted on rejection of the list of candidates presented by other countries, including Azerbaijan impeded the Courtâ€™s activity. He noted that European Court was anxious about this issue.
â€œReelection should be held on judges whose activity was expired. There is unclear situation in sharing posts in the court because of election.
Judgment of Subcommittee on candidates will be submitted to PACE Bureau. Discussions on the Azerbaijani candidates for judgeship in European Court of Human Rights will be held at the meeting of PACE Bureau on March 13. Khanlar Hajiyev, Rovshan Ismayilov and Saedet Yusifova were nominated for judgeship of ECHR.
