NATO PA 68TH Rose-Roth seminar to start in Baku

Baku. Ulviyya Aliyeva-APA. NATO Parliamentary Assemblyâ€™s 68th Rose-Roth seminar between the member and partner countries is to start in Baku on Thursday. NATO PA told APA, the seminar would focus on the issues of security in the Caspian and Central Asian region. Representatives of Central Asian countries â€“ Kazakhstan, Kirgyzistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, as well as international organizations will join the seminar co-organized by the Azerbaijani Parliament.
According to the schedule of three-day seminar, President of NATO PA Joze Lello and Speaker of Azerbaijani Milli Mejlis Ogtay Asadov will deliver keynote speeches on March 6. NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for Central Asia and the South Caucasus Robert Simmons and EU special representative for the South Caucasus Peter Semneby will join the seminar on March 7. The Speaker of Turkmen Parliament Akca Nurberdiyeva and Kazakh Deputy Defense Minister Bulat Sembinov will attend the seminar this very day.
On March 8, representative of the National Assembly of Afghanistan will join the discussions between Afghanistan and Central Asian countries on the NATO ISAF operations. Seminar will be finalized later in the day with the session â€œPolitical Islam, Democracy and Human Rights in the Central Asiaâ€.
