Elmar Mammadyarov meets with Libyan Prime Minister

Khazar Ibrahim, spokesman for Foreign Ministry accompanying the minister told APA that the meeting focused on cooperation in the spheres of education, health and tourism and the ministers noted the importance of organizing mutual visits. The sides reached an agreement on investigating the opportunities for mutual investments and underlined the necessity of signing agreements on elimination of double taxation and promotion of investments. They also reached an agreement on quick launch of the bilateral intergovernmental commission.
Elmar Mammadyarov also met with Shokri Mohammad Ghanem, president of the National Oil Corporation of Libya and briefed about Azerbaijanâ€™s energy potential and current projects. President of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev also attended the meeting. He spoke about the projects and potentials of Azerbaijanâ€™s oil and gas industry. Rovnag Abdullayev said Azerbaijani specialists contributed to the energy industry of a number of countries and mentioned that Azerbaijan cooperated with Libya in this field during the Soviet times. He underlined that they were interested in participating in energy sector of Libya.
