Azerbaijani President is planned to meet with President of Turkmenistan Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov and President Kyrgyzstan Kurmanbek Bakiyev in the framework of the informal summit. The presidents’ visits scheduled to Azerbaijan will be discussed at the meeting. One of the interesting meetings in the informal summit will be between Russian and Georgian presidents. Vladimir Putin and Mikhail Saakashvili will exchange views on removing problems between the two countries. President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon will brief the participants about the damage of cold weather on the country’s economy.
Presidents of Azerbaijan, Tajikistan and Georgia are already in Moscow. Presidents of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Moldova will arrive in Russian capital today.
The idea of holding informal summit in Moscow was put forth in the summit of CIS heads of states in Dushanbe. The summit had been scheduled for May, but was rescheduled for February 22, as Vladimir Putin’s presidential term expires. President Putin will introduce Dmitry Medvedev as his political heir to CIS heads of states.
