Central Election Commission appeals to Venice Commission

Azerbaijanâ€™s Central Election Commission (CEC) appealed to the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe for amendments to the â€œProcedures of considering complaints received by CECâ€, the commission officer Rovzat Gasimov told the APA. He said that the procedures were prepared by experts of Venice Commission taking into consideration its proposals.
â€œBut local and international organizations made some remarks concerning the procedure after the latest elections. Therefore, the CEC appealed to the Venice Commission and asked if there is need for amending the procedure,â€ he said.
Gasimov said the appeal has not been replied yet. He noted if there is need for amending the procedure, debates will be held with participation of experts from the Venice Commission. /APA/
