Turkish MP offers erecting monument for Turkish martyrs in Baku

Turkish MP said during the World War I, 10 Turkish soldiers were held as hostages in Nargin, and most of them died there, APA’s Turkey bureau reports.
After Turhan Chomaz’s request, several Turks supported his initiative on perpetuating their grandfathers’ memory in Nargin. Councilor of the Turkey Cabinet of Ministers Junryd Zapsu said his grandfather Abdurrahman Zapsu spent hostage life in Nargin but hospital nurse in the island helped him to escape. Turkish pilot Vejihi Hurkush’s hostage life and his escaping are to be shot in a film. He was detained by Russians during the World War I but also escaped with the help of Azerbaijanis and reached Arzurum. A cinema company requested Turhan Chomaz to help shoot a film on Turkish pilot’s life. Chomaz said Turkish soldiers’ life in Nargin will be investigated in the future too. /APA/
