Roundtable “South Azerbaijani Turks’ Mother Language� held

Roundtable “South Azerbaijani Turks’ Mother Language� was held on occasion of International Mother Language Day, APA reports. The roundtable was organized by Azerbaijan Popular Front Party and Society for Protection of Women’s Rights named after Dilara Aliyeva.
South Azerbaijan Information Agency chief Ali Suleymani gave information about the Azerbaijanis arrested in the ceremonies on occasion of International Mother Language Day organized in Iran. He said that Azerbaijanis living in Urmia, Gum, Ahar, Tabriz and other cities organize protest actions on this occasion.
Professor Almaz Aliqizi said that Azerbaijanis living in Iran face problems concerning the language. She said that the people should be enlightened to prevent the limit of the language.
Joint Popular Front Party leader, MP Gudret Hasanguliyev stressed the importance of celebrating International Mother Language Day by the government.
“We should try to improve Turkic languages and achieve to form a unique Turkic language. The state and politicians should do their best for it,� he said.
Hasanguliyev offered to erect Babek’s monument in Azadliq square. He also expressed his confidence that a capital called Khudaferin will be founded over the Araz River.
At the end of the event the participants appealed to the UN and Iranian religious leader Ayatollah Khamnei. /APA/
