Draft law State Program on development of media discussed

Press Council organized the discussions of draft law on state program on development of media, APA reports. The chiefs of press bodies participated in the discussions. The chief of PC Eflatun Amnashov gave information about the draft law. The project envisages various events concerning the development of mass media. Economist Ingilab Ahmadov stated that the proposals should correspond to Azerbaijani realities. The chief of Defense Foundation of Constitution Alimammad Nuriyev said that the program does not reflect the real goals, reasons of the problems in media and concrete duties.
â€œThe period of the program should also be indicated. Besides, no concessions concerning media representatives and journalists have been included to the program,â€? he said.
The chief of Economic Researches Center Gubad Abadoglu said that stressed the importance of exaggerating the problems of the journalists. He said separate project can worked out concerning the problems of the journalists.
The editor-in-chief of Azerbaijan newspaper Bakhtiyar Sadikhov said that this document is neither draft law, nor state program. He said a special commission should be established to work out perfect law.
The chief of Turan information Agency Mehman Aliyev said it is not possible to solve all the problems of the media by financial support of the state.
The director of APA Information Agency Vusale Mahirqizi said that she estimates this step positive. She said that she is against of stateâ€™s financing mass media and noted that these bodies should solve their problems by means of commercial market.
The director of the APA supported the proposals on credit system and proposed to establish working group to improve the program.
The meeting decided to estimate the proposals and to establish commission to work out the program again. /APA/
