# 16 February 2007 15:26 (UTC +04:00)
Today some members of the Azerbaijan National Independence Party (ANIP) attempted to picket outside Iranian Embassy, APA reports. Nearly 20 party members began to chant slogans “Release to prisoners, but officers of Sebayel Police Department prevent their approach to the embassy. Three of party members have been detained; the others removed from the area. The picketers were not allowed to present the resolution of the action to the embassy, but they managed to read it to journalists. The resolution demands to end violation of human rights in South Azerbaijan and to release political prisoners as well as Abbas Lisani.
ANIP representatives were holding the photos of Abbas Lisani. The police said that the detained have been taken to Police Department #9 and necessary measures will be taken about them.
Baku Major’s Office did not allow ANIP to hold picket outside Iranian Embassy. /APA/
