Peter Semneby intends to visit displaced-persons camps in Azerbaijan

Mr. Semneby said he intends to meet with Azerbaijani officials and representatives of NGOs to discuss the living conditions of IDPs thoroughly. Answering the question whether EU, which has sent a mission to the conflict zones in Georgia, will send a mission to Nagorno Karabakh too, the EU Special Representative said that it is premature to speak about it.
â€œWe do not know the result of the mission to Georgia yet. So, we can begin to work in Nagorno Karabakh only after this,â€? he said.
Mr. Semneby said that the date of his visit to Azerbaijan has not been set yet. His visit was previously scheduled to 16-17 March.
Chief of Azerbaijani community of Nagorno Karabakh Nizami Behmenov said that he plans to meet with Peter Semneby within his visit to Azerbaijan.
â€œWe will focus on the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. We will also discuss participation of communities in the negotiations,â€? Mr. Behmenov said.
He also said that he has some proposals to Peter Semneby. /APA/
