Ahiska Turks appeal to the CE as Georgia delays adoption of law â€œOn repatriationâ€?

Georgian Parliament delays the adoption of the law â€œOn repatriationâ€?, the chief of the Azerbaijani office of Veten (Motherland) Society of Ahiska Turks Ibrahim Burhanov told the APA. He said that they are not told if the bill will be discussed at the parliament or not. Burhanov noted that they appealed to the Georgian Parliament and the Council of Europe as the adoption of the law delays.
â€œThe adoption of the law should not be delayed. When Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili was in Turkey he said that the process will start in 2007. If the process begins in 2007, the law should be adopted at the beginning of the year. But the law is not adopted,â€? he said.
Burhanov said they will do their best for the adoption of the law. /APA/
