Roundtable held on the bill “On political parties�

Roundtable on discussion of the bill “On political parties� was held, APA reports. The member of the Lawyers Forum Annagi Hajibeyli said that as the decision about it was made in 1992, it should be worked out again. He mentioned that the author of the bill is Lawyers’ Forum.
“Preparation of the bills serves to support the Milli Majlis,� he said.
One of the authors of the bill Gulamhuseyn Alibeyli gave information about the bill. He said that there are changes in the bill.
“Unregulated items of the law on financing political parties pose problems. Therefore the fifth chapter of the bill is devoted to material provision of political parties. Several variants have been proposed. Though the main criterion is the limit of votes in elections, it was proposed to allocate funds from the state budget to pay minimum expenditures of parties,� he said.
The chief of the Constitutional Investigations Fund Alimammad Nuriyev said there are some shortcomings in the bill.
“Though there are changes in the bill, it is not right to determine the parties’ opportunities by only parliamentary elections. The results of president and municipal elections should be taken into consideration,� he said.
Chief of Citizens’ Solidarity Party Sabir Rustamkhanli considers the bill satisfactory.
The chief of Gurulush party Fazil Gazanfaroglu said that party is ideological view.
