Azerbaijani Embassy in Romania holds an event on March 31, the Day of Azerbaijanisâ€™ Genocide

Bucharestâ€“APA. An event dedicated to March 31, the Day of Azerbaijanis Genocide was held at the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Romania, press service of the embassy told APA. Members of the Romanian-Azerbaijani Friendship Society, Azerbaijani-Romanian Youth and Cultural Association, Romanian-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce and Industry, representatives of Heydar Aliyev Foundation and SOCAR in Romania, Azerbaijanis living and studying in Romania, Turkish-Tatar communities, as well as journalists attended the event. In his opening speech, Ambassador Eldar Hasanov informed the participants about the history of the genocide, particularly cruelties committed by Armenians in 1905-1907 in Baku, Shusha, Zangezur, Iravan, Nakhchivan, Ordubad, Echmiadzin, Javanshir and Gazakh, killing of thousands of Azerbaijanis in March-April, 1918 in Baku, Shamakhi, Guba, Mugan and Karabakh and expelling of tens of thousands people from their home. Victims of genocide against Azerbaijani people were remembered at the event with a minute of silence. Then the participants looked at the photos of genocide horrors.
