The new independent university is named after Heydar Aliyev, APA Georgian bureau reports. The university will prepare teachers for 124 Azerbaijani schools in Georgia. Earlier Azerbaijan provided these schools with teacher staff and this process was stopped during the period of independence. According to the opinion poll conducted by the university’s leadership, there are 35 thousand pupils and 4 thousand teachers at the Azerbaijani-speaking schools, which need in 800 more teachers. Rector of the Heydar Aliyev Georgia-Azerbaijan Humanitarian University Novruz Bayramov told APA local bureau 80 students had already been admitted to the university. “The young people show high interest to our university. Need in the pedagogical staff makes us more responsible. A prior issue for us is perfect teaching of the official Georgian language and improving of quality of lessons. We have many problems. We need in five-storey building. We will extend the student admission in future. We need in financial resources to open the computer classes”.
Diplomas of the Heydar Aliyev Georgia-Azerbaijan Humanitarian University will be recognized in a number of countries.
