APA reports that Gurbanov’s wife, 38-year-old Lyudmila Shramenko appealed to Kirovograd province prosecutor’s office in connection with the criminal actions of the policemen. In the appeal she demands to launch criminal case on the policemen causing Besharet Gurbanov’s death. She said her husband had undergone torture, did not die of heart failure, but as a result of physical pressures.
“I do not believe the judgment of the forensic experts. I heard him cry during the interrogation in the police office. Besharet was a handicapped person of the second group. He was examined by the medical commission every year. I have a medical report that he had no heart problems,” she said.

Head of Kirovograd regional department of Ukraine Azerbaijanis’ Congress Vilayat Mammadov also confirmed that Gurbanov died as a result of torture.
“Besharet did not participate in the shooting in Kirovograd market. He was taken to the police office in connection with his wife and interrogated for a few hours. Besharet wanted his lawyer to attend the interrogation, but he was rejected. His wife says that Besharet was quite healthy when he was taken to the police office. We were informed in the evening that Gurbanov died while he was interrogated in the cabinet of inspector,” he said. To him, Azerbaijanis participating in necroscopy stated that there were many wounds and bleeding on his body.
“There were many bruises on his shoulder-blade, feet, neck, and fingers. We consider that he died because of physical attacks faced during investigation,” he said.

About 400 Azerbaijanis living in Kirovograd picketed outside police office. The police arrived in the site to prevent the picket. Representatives of Azerbaijani Embassy in Ukraine and the Congress of Azerbaijanis in Ukraine visited Kirovograd yesterday.

Kirovograd Interior Affairs Department said that the case was under investigation. Inspectors, who interrogated Besharet Gurbanov, as well as Vladislav Baranov, Chief of Kirovograd Interior Affairs Kirov Department, have been dismissed in connection with results of investigation. Ukraine media reports that one more Azerbaijani living in Kirovograd Nadir Mammadov became invalid as a result of tortures undergone in police department several months ago.
