The government noted on Thursday that the document “registers the political state of contemporary Ukrainian-Russian relations and a number of provisions of the economic and humanitarian nature.” It also reflects the results of the meeting of the Interstate Commission, and mentions the list of documents to be signed.
The Ukrainian government instructed the related central agencies of the executive authorities to work to refine the draft protocol within 24 hours and to supply to the Foreign Ministry proposals to the protocol to be coordinated with the Russian side.
Ukrainian Premier Nikolai Azarov said earlier that the Ukrainian side was working intensively to draft the documents for the meeting. The protocol on the delivery of goods under production cooperation in 2014 was, specifically, being prepared for the meeting. It is “actually, the production programme for next year for large Ukrainian machine building enterprises.”
Other documents include the memorandum on joint actions to organize construction of the transport link across the Kerch Strait, the intergovernment agreement on practical organizational and technical ensurance of joint control at check points at the Ukrainian-Russian state border.
“These are problems that check our bilateral trade. We have been working on these problems for over two years and now we are near solving them,” Azarov stressed. He pointed out that the action plan to regulate trade restrictions in bilateral trade in 2013-2014 is to be signed at the meeting.
