After talks between Putin and Trump, Russian military forces received an order from the Commander-in-Chief to halt attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, APA’s Moscow bureau reports, citing Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation.
It was noted that at that moment, seven UAVs targeting energy facilities in Ukraine’s Mykolaiv region were airborne. The Russian Air Defense forces were ordered to neutralize these UAVs: six were shot down by the "Pantsir" air defense system, while one was downed by a fighter jet from the Aerospace Forces.
The Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation also stated that a few hours after the talks between Putin and Trump concluded, Ukraine launched an attack with three UAVs on an energy infrastructure facility in Kavkazskaya, which supplies oil through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium's pipeline system.
As a result of the UAV crash, a fire broke out, covering an area of 1,700 square meters.
The Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation described Ukraine’s actions as a "deliberately orchestrated provocation aimed at undermining Trump’s peace initiatives."
