Dmitri Sanakayev: First administrative unit should be created

Dmitri Sanakoev has won the alternative presidential elections in South Ossetia. Recently Dmitri Sanakoev has met with Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili and stressed that this person is being supported by Ossetian people. He offered to establish temporary administrative units in Skhinvali territory and these units are expected to be governed by Dmitri Sanakoev. De-Facto President of South Ossetia Sanakoev told the APA Georgia bureau that South Ossetia Autonomous region was abolished due to the decision of Georgian parliament in early 90s.
â€œTemporary administrative units are considered to be establishing due to President Mikhail Saakashviliâ€™s initiative. This is legitimate and good factor. First we should establish administrative unit and then be involved in the status of South Ossetia. This status can be defined on the basis of administrative unit. This is the first step in building mutual relations between Georgian and Ossetian people,â€ he said.
Sanakoev told the APA that President Mikhail Saakashviliâ€™s initiative is of general character.
â€œWe do not know about the competences of to be established administrative unit. The only clear thing is these structures will be engaged in bettering social-economic situation of people. I have always said and say it again that it is necessary to solve all the problems peacefully. The community living there should understand that to live in a peace is better than to speak of independence and building our statehood within common borders,â€ Mr. Sanakoev underlined. /APA/
