Baku-APA. Moscow police has tightened up security around the Polish Embassy in Russia, the city’s interior department said Friday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

"The Embassy has been protected with the police units due to possible acts of hooliganism," the police spokesman told reporters.

The police deployed additional forces clad in anti-riot garment around Poland’s diplomatic mission in the city to prevent the possible acts of vandalism from local football fans.

Some Russian fans said earlier they were going to "revenge" for the street clashes between Polish mobs and Russian team supporters in Warsaw this week following the Russia vs Poland game at the Euro 2012 tournament.

On June 12, Polish police detained 25 Russians and 156 Poles in Warsaw who were later punished with fines and suspended imprisonment of one to three months.

Three more Russian fans have been expecting trial, according to the Polish Embassy’s spokeswoman.

Following Russian supporters throwing fireworks during a game between Russia and the Czech Republic in Poland and the clashes between Russian and Polish fans, the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) fined the Russian Football Union (RFS) 120,000 euro (about 156,000 U.S. dollars) Wednesday and awarded Russia with six negative points for the trial period until the start of the next European championship’s qualifications in 2016.

RFS said Thursday it would appeal the "harsh punishment" while calling on Russian football fans to exercise restraint and follow the rules set by the UEFA.
