Armenian ex-president Levon Ter-Petrosyan resigns his parliamentary seat

APA reports that he has already submitted his application to the Central Election Commission.

Ter-Petrosyan made a speech in the rally of opposition a while ago and said that if his alliance possessed majority in the parliament, he wouldn’t withdraw from the parliamentary mandate. Former prime minister Grant Bagratyan will lead Armenian National Congress faction in the parliament. Petrosyan left the parliament, but not politics.

According to the Central Election Commission, the Armenian National Congress won 7 seats at the parliament after the elections on May 8. The alliance said that it would go to law to appeal the election results. The other deputies of the Armenian National Congress didn’t resign from the seats.
