The average price forecast for Brent oil for the first quarter of 2026 will be 58 US dollars, APA-Economics reports, citing the forecast of the largest financial group in the Netherlands, ING Group.
ING believes that the price of oil will continue to decline towards the end of 2026. Thus, the price of oil for the second quarter is forecast at 56 dollars, for the third quarter at 58 dollars, and for the fourth quarter at 54 dollars. In other words, the average annual price of oil for 2026 has been set at 56.5 dollars.
According to the group's forecast, the price of oil will again exceed 60 dollars in 2027: "The average price of Brent oil is expected to be 58 dollars in the first quarter of 2027, 60 dollars in the second quarter, 66 dollars in the third quarter, and 63 dollars in the fourth quarter."
Overall, ING has kept its oil price forecast unchanged. In the natural gas market, a downward correction has been made for the entire year 2026 compared to previous forecasts. Thus, the average gas price forecast for the first quarter of 2026 in the Dutch TTF hub was reduced from 34 euros to 33 euros, for the second quarter to 28 euros, for the third quarter to 27 euros, and for the fourth quarter to 30 euros from 33 euros. In the gas forecasts for 2027, price expectations for the second and third quarters were kept at 24 euros, and for the fourth quarter at 27 euros.
