Turkey: PKK terrorist killed, 3 soldiers injured

Baku-APA. A terrorist was “neutralized” and three soldiers were injured in a clash between security forces and the terrorist PKK in eastern Turkey’s Agri province on Friday, the regional governor’s office said, APA reports quoting Anadolu Agency.

The Agri Governor’s Office said in a statement an operation against the PKK in the province’s Sinek highlands resulted in a gunbattle between security forces and the terrorist group.

The injured soldiers were taken to a state hospital in Agri for treatment. One of the soldiers, who is in critical condition, was flown with a helicopter to neighboring eastern province of Erzurum and was taken to a hospital there for treatment.

An extensive security operation in the region remains ongoing.

The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU -- resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.

Since then, more than 600 security personnel have been martyred and more than 7,000 PKK terrorists have been killed.
