Baku – APA. An express train slammed into a parked freight train on Monday, killing at least 20 people in northern India, APA reports quoting ABC News.
The collision caused six cars of the Gorakhpur Express passenger train to derail in an eastern district of the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, Railway Ministry spokesman Anil Saksena said.
At least 20 people were killed, District Magistrate Bharat Lal said. Rescuers were working to free people trapped under toppled cars and broken metal debris.
