Russia tests new missiles in Syria

Baku – APA. Summing up the Russian raid in Syria, Sergei Shoigu said that the country has managed to stabilize the situation, as well as to test new weapons, including missiles X-101.

 

The head of the defense ministry army general Sergei Shoigu on military-technical conference announced the results of the operation videoconferencing in Syria over the past year, The Newspaper reports.

 

According to him, Russian troops “managed to stabilize the situation in the country,” and to liberate the major part of territories from insurgents (banned in Russia) ISIS.

 

As for combat missions, according to Shoigu, videoconferencing struck at the places of clusters of terrorists and their infrastructure facilities that allowed us to see modern Russian weapons, and also get the experience of firing precision weapons long range, including surface ships and submarines from the waters of the Caspian and Mediterranean seas.

 

Another achievement of the Russian military, said the head of MO, was the use of missiles, air-launched X-101 with a range of up to 4.5 thousand kilometers.

 

Planes videoconferencing worked in difficult desert terrain, said Shoigu, and showed reliability and efficiency.

 

Recall that the operation in Syria began on 30 September 2015 following the official request from the country’s incumbent President Bashar al-Assad to help in the fight against terrorists.
