Iran's Foreign Ministry has only issued a warning to its citizens traveling to Turkey's southeastern provinces to be careful, the source said.
“There is no problem in land borders. However, a section of rail borders has been temporarily closed at the request of the Turkish government due to technical problems. But, it will be reopened soon”, said Majid Aqababaee, an official with the Iranian Interior Ministry.

The news of border closure was announced by Iranian Police Chief Hossein Ashtari, according to Turkey’s Milliyyet newspaper.
He said Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNCS) has closed the country’s northwestern border to counter spreading unrest from neighboring Turkey.
Ashtari said that only SNSC officials should be asked about the reason of the closure.
