Baku-APA. The European Commission on Thursday adopted a package worth 180 million euros (about 223 million U.S. dollars) to deal with the Syrian crisis as well as to help refugees in Lebanon and Jordan, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
The refugees being hosting in these two countries are around 1.1 million and 630,000 respectively.
The Commission said the package addresses in particular the education of children and young adults and out of the total amount of 180 million euros, 41 million euros will provide assistance to the population still inside Syria, 66 million euros will help Syrian refugees and host communities in Jordan, and 73 million euros in Lebanon.
The Syrian conflict is having a devastating and lasting impact on Syria and across the region.
