Baku-APA. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas called Turkish prime minister on Tuesday to discuss Middle East peace process with Israel, Turkish Prime Ministry sources said, APA reports quoting Turkish media.
Private Cihan news agency reported that Abbas first told ErdoÄŸan that he is pleased with the release of two Turkish pilots kidnapped in Lebanon.
Sources said Abbas briefed ErdoÄŸan about the latest developments in the Middle East peace process.
Both leaders also agreed to be in touch with respect to the regional developments. It was not clear if the officials talked about national reconciliation between Fatah, the party of Abbas that rules West Bank, and Hamas.
Leader of Hamas, which rules Gaza, Khaled Meshaal, met with ErdoÄŸan last week in Ankara.
