A second Hezbollah commander was killed overnight following a strike in southern Lebanon, the IDF said in a statement, APA reports citing WAtoday.
In a post to Telegram, the IDF said Mohammad Ahmad Khreiss was eliminated in the area of Nabatieh in Lebanon’s south. Earlier today, the IDF said it had killed Yassin Abd al-Mun’im ’Izz al-Din in another part of southern Lebanon.
The IDF said Khreiss was a commander of Hezbollah’s anti-tank unit in Nabatieh and said he was responsible for numerous attacks against Israel, which had led to last year’s death of Sharif Suad, a truck driver working for the IDF.
“The IDF continues to monitor and thwart Hezbollah’s attempts to increase its readiness to strike the state of Israel under the cover of the war with Iran. The IDF will continue to eliminate any threat posed to the state of Israel,” the statement read.
Hezbollah has not confirmed either of the two deaths.
