Baku-APA. Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) started a three-day military drill in the Persian Gulf on Wednesday to exercise different tactics of naval defense, semi-official Fars news agency reported, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

The naval wargame is conducted in the northern parts of the Persian Gulf, where IRGC forces are supposed to carry out different defensive operational tactics, said the report, adding that they will also carry out coordination tactics among units and test the capability of the IRGC's naval, missile and marine units.

An IRGC commander was quoted by Fars as saying that the IRGC " has drawn its defensive plans based on the worst case scenario."

Earlier this month, the Iranian navy held a six-day large-scale naval exercises in the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz and the Sea of Oman.
