Baku-APA. An earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale jolted Homelin-Tamanti in Myanmar's northwestern Sagaing region bordering India Wednesday, according to the Nay Pyi Taw Hydrology and Meteorology Department, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
The epicenter was estimated at a location about 30.4 kilometers west of Tamanti.
The quake occurred at 08:11:22 local time (01:41:22 GMT), the sources said.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake struck at a depth of 75.60 km.
