Baku-APA. At least one policeman was killed and seven others were injured when a bomb blast hit a police mobile in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi on Thursday night, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
Local TV Geo said that the incident happened at about 9:30 p.m. (local time) when a police mobile carrying three policemen was targeted in Orangi Town area of Karachi, the capital city of the country's southern Sindh province.
The bomb was triggered off by a remote control and explosives were hidden in a garbage heap on the ground.
The injured people including two policemen and five civilians were shifted to a nearby hospital.
No group claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
Police cordoned off the area and an investigation into the incident has been kicked off.
Attacks on police became a routine matter in Karachi over the last one year.
According to a report release by Karachi police in December 2012, over 100 policemen have been killed in separate incidents of gunfire and bomb blast in the city last year.
