U.S. President Donald Trump believes he can resolve the issue of Iran’s uranium enrichment program through diplomatic means, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in an interview with CNBC, APA reports.
Netanyahu noted that he and Trump agree on the key issues concerning Iran.
“Trump believes he can solve the uranium enrichment issue through diplomatic pressure and tough negotiations. I think he should be given a chance,” he said.
Netanyahu also acknowledged that tactical disagreements occasionally arise between the United States and Israel. He stressed that despite all differences, the sides always manage to reach an understanding.
“Sometimes, as in the best families, we have tactical disagreements. We always find a way to resolve our differences,” he said.
The prime minister noted that the sides are able to reach a common position within a short period of time.
“We may have a disagreement in the morning, but by the afternoon we take a common step,” Netanyahu said.
Netanyahu also emphasized that his personal relationship with Donald Trump has not changed.
“He respects me, and I respect him,” he said.
