Kuwait says alleged IRGC members attempted sea infiltration for “hostile” activities

The four alleged Revolutionary Guard members attempted to enter Kuwait by sea to launch “hostile” activities, the Interior Ministry says, Al Jazeera reports.

“Confession of the infiltration group to Kuwaiti territories during interrogation with them of their affiliation to the Revolutionary Guard in the Islamic Republic of Iran,” the ministry said in a statement, carried by the Kuwait News Agency.

The alleged “infiltrators” clashed with Kuwaiti armed forces and wounded one of its members, while two escaped, it said.

“They confessed to being tasked with infiltrating Bubiyan Island aboard a fishing boat rented specifically to carry out hostile acts against Kuwait,” the statement added.
