The Japanese government is examining the issue of nationalizing military factories, Kyodo news agency reports.
According to the information, the aim is to increase the production of ammunition and weapons, as well as to strengthen long-term military operational capabilities.
It is noted that a decision on this matter is expected to be made in 2026 as part of updates to key security documents.
Nationalization would allow factories to be directly funded from the state budget, although in some cases production management may remain in the hands of the private sector.
