Activists say Israeli forces have intercepted a yacht trying to bring humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip in defiance of an Israeli naval blockade, APA reports citing BBC.
Climate activist Greta Thunberg and a French lawmaker at the European Parliament are among those aboard the vessel
Israel's foreign ministry, branding it as a "selfie yacht", said earlier that the country's navy had told the boat to change course
It later said the yacht was "safely making its way to the shores of Israel"
The Palestinian foreign ministry has called for protection of the activists' safety.
A UN official on Palestinian human rights issues has asked for more ships to "sail together" to bring aid to Gaza.
