Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has been invited to New York, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said in a statement, APA’s Tehran bureau reports.
Baghaei said that a special meeting of foreign ministers on international peace and security issues will be held within the framework of China’s rotating presidency of the UN Security Council.
According to him, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has also been invited to the meeting.
Baghaei noted that the open session of the UN Security Council is scheduled to take place on May 26. He added that Araghchi’s participation in the meeting has not yet been confirmed due to his busy work schedule.
