Fire breaks out in Türkiye's Izmir province

A forest fire that broke out in the Aliağa district of İzmir intensified due to the wind and advanced towards Foça, APA reports citing en.haberler.com.

Foça Mayor Saniye Bora Fıçı stated, "60 of our citizens were evacuated from 12 houses. It is said that the fire started from the electrical wires."

The fire that broke out in the forest near the Bozköy neighborhood of Aliağa district has progressed towards the Ilıpınar neighborhood of Foça district due to the wind. Some houses in the mountainous area of the region were evacuated as a precaution, and it was learned that two houses were damaged.

"It is said that the fire started from electric wires."

Foça Mayor Saniye Bora Fıçı, who provided information about the fire in the region, stated, "60 of our citizens were evacuated from 12 houses. Unused houses were also checked by gendarmerie teams. The Forest Region, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, and the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) teams are working. The fire is large. There is also a poultry farm in the area. Although the exact cause is not known, it is said that the fire started from electric wires. We are very sorry," she said.
