Baku-APA. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will respond to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’s letter about reviving the peace process within days, a Palestinian official said Wednesday, APA reports quotiung Xinhua.

The U.S. Consul General in Jerusalem Daniel Rubinstein met Abbas Wednesday and told him that Netanyahu are likely to respond to the letter by Friday or early next week, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

The letter, delivered to Israel on April 17, outlines the Palestinian vision and conditions to resume the negotiations that have stopped in 2010.

Rubinstein told Abbas that Washington pushes Israel to respond positively to Abbas’s written letter to create an atmosphere allowing the resumption of the peace talks, which has been stalled over a dispute on Jewish settlement activities in the Palestinian territories.

On Tuesday, Palestinian officials saw no big hope in reviving the negotiations with Israel after its parties agreed to form a unity government. They called on the government to freeze the settlement activities and recognize the two-state solutions to allow the negotiations to restart.
